All systems GO!!!

With the 22nd approaching fast our team are arranging the final steps of the project.

We have set up a Facebook and twitter account to assist us in promoting the open day.
I have shared the Facebook event on the DkIT student union page, the CM page and the general DkIT page on Facebook..

I have arranged for the DkIT radio to promote it throughout its shows – hoping it starts up before the event….

I made posters for the event and posted them in various places over the college in an attempt to rise awareness

Naimh contacted Creative Spark and requested they upload our poster on their website and promote the event via their Facebook and twitter.

I think from all this promotion, coupled with the other groups we will generate a substantial footfall level and raise awareness of both DkIT and Creative Spark.

Martin arranged sponsorship for the printing of students graphics, all of which will be done on A2 size poster paper.. arranged for 4euro each

We will also offer small refreshments at the event, thanks to the sponsorship.

We have gathered work from Keiran and JJ so we can display HCI, 3D, Graphic design. I am still waiting on the Website projects from Peter Groslin.

In an attempt to generate further interest I have arranges flyer size handouts for the show.

I have shrunk the A2 poster down to fit 9 on an  A4 page so our team can hand them out in O’Fi and leave on the tables in Star bucks.

Hopefully this will add to the posters I have already places around various places in the college and generate better footfall

I sent the following Email to O’Fi to invite their students to our open day

My name is Richie Hunt, I am a 4th year creative multimedia student in DkIT.
On Monday the 22nd of Oct we have arranged for an open day in the Creative Spark building to showcase both work from previous years in DkIT CM and to showcase the new Creative Spark building. View their website here http://creativespark.ie/
I would like to extend an invitation all the students of O’Fiaich, especially students of the creative arts, and I am wondering what may be the best way to announce this. Do you think it would suit for my team to pop over to O’Fiaich for a bit tomorrow and introduce our selfs and the project?
We are free between 11:30am – 1, or after 3..
Thanks for taking the time to read this,
I look forward to an early reply.

Final year blog

We have held a meting with the people in the CreativeSpark and have agreed a date to hold the open evening. It will be on the 22 of this month, from 5 – 8, (this may change).

We have also been organizing  the content which we are going to be putting into the exhibition. The design content has risen issues as to how we will be able to fund the event. We got a quote today of €120 for the printing of the posters. We are going to try and find a better price or come to some sort of  compromise on this issue.

All of the other content will be digital and we will be using projectors to display this so there will be no expense occurred.  We have set a goal of having all of the content picked and ready to go by next Monday giving us another full…

SAO PAULO — Brazil’s social security agency has for the first time granted a four-month “maternity” leave for a man in a civil union with another man.

Lucimar da Silva asked for the leave two years ago when he and his partner adopted a child. Brazilian law mandates that companies provide a four-month paid leave from work for a mother and five days paid leave for a father.

Silva argued it would be discriminatory to deny him the longer leave, noting the social security agency has already approved the four-month benefit for same-sex couples in which the partners are women.

An agency statement Thursday says the decision for da Silva does not set a legal precedent. It says all-male couples with adopted children will have to individually petition for the four-month leave.
